Tenchi was your typical average hard working 19 year old until the day when he set the demon Ryoko free. After that day his life has been one big mess. Aside from attending school and helping out his grandfather at the shrine, he has six girls to look after. Two of them like to fight over who will get to marry Tenchi in the future.
When Tenchi opened the seal on the shrine little did he know he would be spending a good portion of his life with: a demon, a spoiled princess, a child princess, a bumbling Galaxy Police detective, a mad scientist, and another GP detective. Not to mention a small cute and furry creature that turns into something not so cute and furry.
But as luck would have it Tenchi finds out he is related by blood to the two princesses, Princess Ayeka and Princess Sasami. Since Ryoko had met Tenchi first she thinks she has Tenchi all to herself. Ayeka does not want Tenchi to be anywhere near Ryoko. She'd much rather have Tenchi all to herself.
