Why did they need to go all the way to New Mexico for a psychiatrist to defend him? There are not enough psychiatrists in Mississippi, or other closer states?
Think of the cost involved (by the taxpayer, I might add) to fly this psychiatrist to testify that a killer is innocent. Hired to contradict the killer's own testimony that he is not insane, but acting out of spiritual guidance from Satan.
But of course we don't believe in God or Satan anymore, so it must be he's just insane. Yet, this boy acts sane otherwise, so it's difficult to find a psychiatrist to testify that he's not responsible.
Perhaps a re-reading of the possessed man in the New Testament where Jesus cast the devils into the herd of swine is in order for us...
