The Jupiter Page

This is an incredibly lucky shot of Jupiter. This was actually taken through a 30" Newtonian telecope by me in 1996, shortly before the Shoemaker-Levi Comet impact. The camera used was a regular Sony video camcorder. Handheld.

Best single frame image from a series, unprocessed.

Telescope: 6" Schupmann at f/45.

The dark specks are dust spots on the camera's glass cover plate enclosing the CCD chip. Mike tells me he must get it out and re-seal the camera real soon now... A fine photo anyway!
