Camp Sea World 1997:
The Highlights. (Well, for me at least.)
This year's program was different from last year in many ways.
The biggest of which was the fact that we did LOTS more this year than
last. The level of participation was higher than I expected, and
we didn't just do textbook work like I had heard advanced camp was promarily
made up of. One of the best parts this year was the fact that we
were able to specialize in one animal area. In order to get the position
we wanted, we had to fill out an application, and participate in a job
interview. This gave us a feel for what is expected of a marine mammal
trainer. I not only had tons of fun this year, I began to seriously
consider what becoming a trainer is going to involve. I'm ignoring
the difficulties, the low pay to start with, and my left brain's ravings,
and I am going to pursue this avenue with everything I've got. If
it ends up not being what I'm supposed to do, I will know. But if
it is, I will be a very happy person.
On to the photos!
I was hoping to assemble the pictures in Chronological order, but
found this would not work since after I retouched the images, I renamed
them, and no longer had their order intact. Another problem is: NONE
OF MY PEOPLE PICTURES CAME OUT!!! I have NO pictures of counselors, and
few pictures of people other than trainers and my small groups. ARGHH!!!
Oh well, that's photography. I do have one hopeful picture of some
people, but it needs more touching up before I post it here. It came
out way to dark. So in the meantime, enjoy what's here!
The images are numbered from top to bottom and left to right.
