These are pictures from my trip to Sea World of Texas Careers Camp 1996. This week entailed the most fun I have ever had in my life, and whenever someone asks about it, I need to be reminded to stop before I talk their ear off! I was thinking of writing a huge explanation of what happened, but if you're one of the people who has already heard the whole story, you won't need to hear it again, and if you're just browsing, you don't want to take the time to read a huge story. Instead, here are some of the best pictures from the trip. Sorry they're in B&W, but I don't have a color scanner. Enjoy!  (Click the arrows to download the picture. If you only have your monitor set to 256 colors, the pictures may not come out very well. They are set to 24-bit greyscale)

Some of the zany counselors we encountered. The ones standing left to right, they are Jason, Rene, and Zoe. The girl in the lower right who is looking at the camera is Liz Weitzel.

Me getting a whale of a kiss from AJ the beluga. Chuck is standing next to me.

Jennifer Web, Monica Cybul, Leigh ???, and me in the dorm during off-hours.

Stephanie, one of the trainers at Shamu stadium tells Kai that lunch is soon.

Ralph is probably one of the fattest dolphins in the world. He is 150 pounds overweight! This isn't because he's overfed, its because he's greedy and doesn't let anyone else get any food.

The king penguins were incredibly friendly. They would let you put your arm around them, and they would even sit on your lap!

Haida is the largest killer whale at SWT. She is actually small for a full-grown female, but is still impressively large.

You can't see it in this shot, but the sea lion is beaming a smile bigger than mine.

A close-up view of Haida. I enhanced the photo a bit so you can see her eye clearly. I was only two feet from her, and she was looking straight into me. WOW!

Here is a pair of the pacific white-sided dolphins (or lags) at White Whale and Dolphin.

Here's a shot of the entire crew. Campers and Counselors alike.

Be sure to keep watching, because if I am accepted into the advanced camp during the summer of 1997, there will be LOTS of new pictures coming! I'll keep ya posted =)
