Another advantage of wireless is that we can offer it in towns not served by Verizon (although we have not built out to those areas yet).
Right now, the area served is limited to the center of Milford. There will be delays (which are hard to predict) building out to other areas; but we would like to hear from potential wireless customers in Milford and the adjacent towns.
(We have no current plans for building beyond about ten miles from the center of Milford.)
Initially, we will ask for a set-up fee of $500 to cover installation costs. Experience will hopefully bring this down, but right now it seems to be as low as we can go and still hope to cover build-out costs.
Added to this base charge is a bandwidth charge of $10 per month for each 128kbps bandwidth. Currently we are offering up to 768kbps. Thus:
| Bandwidth | Monthly Charge |
| 128,000 bits per second | $20 |
| 256,000 bits per second | $30 |
| 384,000 bits per second | $40 |
| 512,000 bits per second | $50 |
| 640,000 bits per second | $60 |
| 768,000 bits per second | $70 |
These charges are for the basic level service, which includes up to five non-routable IP addresses, up to five email accounts @jlc.net, and 20 megabytes of space on our www.jlc.net webserver (as well as telephone support).
If you feel the need for routable IP addresses -- for example if you want to run a server at your own location, we have a package including one routable IP address, domain-name service for one domain, and 128k bits per second of routable bandwidth for an additional $15 per month.
JLC places no limits on the number of computers you may connect or whether you may run servers over our DSL service.
If you need something not listed above, we'll be happy to work out fair pricing.
