Beaver Brook Association is a nonprofit, educational corporation chartered in 1964, dedicated to the advancement of knowledge and apprecation of the natural world among people of all ages.

The Association was founded by Hollis P. and Ellen B. Nichols of Hollis, NH, as a gift to their community, and is supported mainly by private funds and trusts which they established. Their Foresight and generosity made possible the acquistion of land at a time when prices were far lower than they are ever likely to be again. The land was obtained mainly through the efforts of Jeffrey P. Smith, who contributed a substantial amount of his own land as well. Beaver Brook Association continues to benefit from the Nichols' foresight, generosity and interest.

In addition, Beaver Brook's operation is made possible by the dedication and involvement of its staff, trustees and many active volunteers. Volunteers have always been a vital factor in Beaver Brook's effective service to the surrounding communities. There are many opportunities for interested people to contribute their time, experience and knowledge. Contact the office for details.

Public financial support in the form of tax-deductible donations either for specific purposes or without restriction is always welcome. These donations are greatly appreciated and needed to carry out our varied environmental work. Beaver Brook also accepts gifts of land and conservation easements. Support at any level gives substance to the donor's belief in environmental protection.
